PDI Exhibits “The PowerHouse” Idle Reduction System at ASLRRA 2015 Show

2015 American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) Convention, March 28-31

Power Drives is proud to exhibit The PowerHouse™ Idle Reduction system at the ASLRRA show in Orlando this month.

The PowerHouse is a revolutionary technology to significantly decrease the energy wasted through locomotive idling. The compact unit heats and circulates water or coolant through the locomotive engine block and cooling system to maintain a temperature above 100˚, even in the coldest, harshest temperatures.  The unit is available as a diesel-powered Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) with a durable Tier 4 compliant Kubota® engine or as a 120/240 VAC version operating form an external power source.

The heart of the PowerHouse is the 136,000 BTU/hr (40kW) diesel-fueled heat exchanger, which provides rapid coolant heating and rock-solid reliability.

We hope you’ll visit us at Booth #420-422 and allow us to demonstrate how the PowerHouse can save fuel costs, reduce emissions and noise for your rail operation.
