Although diesel fuel plays a large role in diesel engines, so does air. Compressed air controls pantographs, brakes and fuels — in part — turbocharger systems in locomotives. PDI has the components needed for these systems to run properly, as well as filtration systems to remove contaminants and maintenance kits to ensure the health and efficiency of these systems.
Compressed air provides power for numerous locomotive systems. However, when it becomes contaminated with water, it can result in increased maintenance costs and possible system failure. PDI's compressed air dryer removes water from the system for proper locomotive function.

On a locomotive, the turbo ducts focus air intake, which is a necessary process in propelling and providing increased power to the engine. PDI creates a custom silicone sleeve, as well as the metal flanges of the duct, for vibration resistance for turbo ducts, which are available in various sizes. Our silicone sleeve has an increased lifespan and can hold up to the heat produced by the turbo chargers.
